The Prince George’s Judo Club is a non-profit, authorized sports organization dedicated to the promotion of judo as a sport and the physical and personal development of today’s youth through the Olympic sport of judo. To accomplish these purposes, the club, under the direction of Edwin Y. Takemori, holds classes for beginner through advanced judo students, conducts educational and self-defense Judo demonstrations, through the Department of Parks and Recreation, and runs a variety of tournaments and clinics every year. The club practices at two sites: Glenn Dale Community Center near Bowie, Maryland, under the direct supervision of Mr. Takemori and Harmony Hall Regional Center in Ft. Washington, Maryland under Steve Manzek. Visitors are always welcome to observe classes and tournaments.

Prince George's Judo Club currently sponsors The Faye Allen Memorial Kata Championship. The Club assists the United States Naval Academy with their fall Team and Individual Invitational tournament in Annapolis, Maryland.

Regular judo clinics sponsored by the Prince George’s Judo Club are: a spring and fall Referee, Technial Officials, and Competitor's Workout, Fall Kata Clinic. A number of other judo clinics, on coaching and instruction are presented as need arises. Self-defense workshops and informational demonstrations are held for various organizations and groups upon request.

Information regarding registration for classes may be obtained through participating community centers. If your local community center does not offer judo, and our classes are too far to travel to, please contact Mr. Takemori and he will put you in contact with the judo school nearest you.
